I recently got to thinking about how those with autism are portrayed in the media and how people use behavioral cues to figure others out. The most iconic portrayal of autism in cinema is Rain Man. Raymond Babbitt, played by Dustin Hoffman, is exceedingly gifted with numbers and memorizing but completely lacking social skills. (more…)
